Three days from now, I leave for a coast-to-coast expedition and I wanted to write you before I go. The forcing-function of that deadline has been useful, mainly so I can stop hemming and hawing and just say what’s true in this moment.
What’s true is that I’m happy to be back in touch. For whatever reason, the collective beings in my field are high-wattage and there are few things more invigorating than being around O.Q.P. (Look that up with the search term ‘Warren Buffet.’)
What else is true is that I’m starting this communication as a precursor to a plausible social venture, one that seems to be presenting itself after years of creative tests, live prototypes, botched (and therefore, highly valuable) experimentations. I’m inspired to make great things again, and I’d love for that energy to flow between us.
Here's what you can expect from our relationship on Substack:
Contributions on a wide range of live/work/play topics including facilitation, collaboration design, visual thinking, gamefulness, relational intelligence, self-authoring, spiritual formation, enlightenment and endarkenment.
Collaborative TECHNIQUES and METHODS for unlocking your higher-order potential. My partner and I are APPLIED, deep problem-solvers. You will rarely hear us theorize without offering something to practice. What will mostly happen is that I’ll give you a thing and ask you to go do the thing. It will often be a thing that scares you. You will not only survive; you’ll start to feel strong. Overtime, dare I say, unstoppable.
The unapologetic implosion of ideas that are antiquated, harmful, or silly. I’m committed to our shared potentiation, and we cannot grow without challenging the architecture of our beliefs, period.
In terms of why me, with guidance from skilled entrepreneurs and exceptional wisdom practitioners I’ve crawled out of 700 personal hells (I have yet to write those stories), and I did that concurrently with publishing, speaking, innovating, and running a globally-successful boutique business. So I know - not based on magical thinking, but from direct experience - that if you have compassionate community and the right tools, EVERYTHING IS WORKABLE, even the most difficult things. That is also true. And that’s what this Substack is for.
See you here.
Hello Mauro! That is a frequent quote from my Zen teacher (also a former clinical psychologist), Flint Sparks. I had the great fortune of meeting this extraordinary human being 16 years ago and learning from him ever since. I take comfort in that quote myself - particularly during hard times. I'm so glad it spoke to you. Nice to see you here. :)
Can't wait.
