WORKSHOP: Creative and Contemplative Mark-Making to see the Light in Dark Times
ONLINE with Master Calligrapher and Award-Winning Artist Sharon Zeugin - Saturday, January 31
Dear ones, I’m excited to share that our next guest at the Center, Master Calligrapher and award-winning artist Sharon Zeugin is teaching mindful mark-making and intuitive expression.
This online experience called DRAWING IN—four hours on Saturday, January 31—is about coming to the present moment and noticing the extraordinary in the ordinary. These are nourishing practices when it is not easy to what’s enchanted, beautiful, and good.
Sharon is one of the world’s few female master calligraphers, among the first to metabolize the technical precision of the craft and then blow it open with an artist’s heart, using mindful, intuitive, perceptual practices to shake the foundations of the tradition. As a teacher, Sharon is patient, attentive, inspirational, and sought after. She encourages authentic expression everywhere she goes.

Using contemplative exercises and basic materials, Sharon will teach us how to expand our visual vocabulary and find our voice while soothing our nervous systems. She’ll show us ways to enhance our perception, link our inner experience to the outer world, and leverage the power of imagination to see—and shine—a light. Artistic training or creative inclinations are not needed for this experience since we’re not aspiring to “make art,” but to learn to draw from within.
