our next CLEAR Practice Circle
drops of self-compassion (and why they can be hard)—this Friday, May 15 @8am PST
If you’re new to Nothing in the Way, first things first: Welcome. We are a kind and bright people. If you’ve been here a spell, you may know I facilitate what are called CLEAR Practice Circles. These circles use multi-sensory group work, based on my third and fourth books,1 to practice inner work. The original invitation and description is here. These Circles are valuable (I would argue invaluable) because our lived experience—and all it adds up to overtime—is largely determined by what’s happening in us that we’re not aware of and aren’t taking care of.
Our next Circle is this Friday, May 15 from 8-9:30am Pacific. In this one we’ll practice—not just talk about but practice—what biologist-turned-healer Michi Rose calls ‘drops’ of self-compassion.
Self-compassion is a powerful agent to free up energy that would otherwise be spent on inner arguments. I know self-compassion to be a power move and I also know kindness as the only non-delusional response to anything but that doesn’t mean they’re easy to apply—particularly when it comes to ourselves. So we’ll explore this together and see what we learn.
Because it’s a labor of love to design and facilitate them, these Circles are for Paid Subscribers. If you’re not ready to commit to a paid subscription, you could buy me a coffee, try one Practice Circle, and decide if there’s value in it for you.
FYI, the group facilitation will not require an inner spelunk in front of strangers. We’ll use effective and helpful multi-sensory techniques and you can keep your discoveries to yourself.
If you can’t attend this Circle, consider beaming into the next one, Friday, June 26. If nothing else, read the poem above by John Welwood. Read it a few times, slowly, until something in you softens and love for you has a chance.
Hope to see you soon,
Sun
My literary agent is pitching the fourth book soon. Can you guess the title?

Love this! Ty!
